Carrie Selbee has been teaching piano students young and old for the past 27 years. Several of her students have pursued careers in music and many, many have enriched their lives through music making. She has both a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance, and a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. Carrie believes everyone can learn to play the music they have always wanted to play, from popular songs to classical favorites. Her own performing experience is diverse, from soloing with symphony orchestras to playing popular music at a piano bar. She has a special affinity toward the classic jazz piano styles of boogie-woogie and stride. Carrie is also the pianist and music worship leader at Manistee United Methodist Church. “I believe there are many of you, young and old, who have always wanted to learn to play the piano. Learn the music you have always wanted to play, in a fun, positive, encouraging environment. You can do it!”
